Thanksgiving Fun in New Orleans
November in New Orleans is a special time. Finally clear of summer heat and exhaustion and cruising towards the winter holiday run and the forever festive Mardi Gras season, November is the perfect time to dig into some New Orleans specialties. To help you plan your next NOLA adventure here are two can’t miss fall shows in the Crescent City. Enjoy responsibly, or not.
Helen Gillet at Antieau Gallery
Helen Gillet is a magical performer. Equally at home in the courtyard at Bacchanal and in the formal confines of the world’s finest concert halls, her songs expand the possibilities of classical instrumentation, and her voice may just be a national treasure. Take a listen below and make sure you stop by Antieau Gallery on November 25th to hear the magic in person.
Meschiya Lake & The Little Bighorns at The Spotted Cat
Meschiya Lake has a voice, and The Little Bighorns have the brass to back it up. While they’re regulars at The Spotted Cat — they play every Tuesday at 6:00pm just down the street from the Frenchmen Hotel — their music is anything but. Transporting audiences back in time with raucous renditions of standards and beyond, there’s no reason to miss out on the fun. There’s no admission, no prebooking, just a one drink minimum once you’re inside, and trust me, you’ll love the drink, too!
We hope this helps you set your itinerary for a fantastic NOLA adventure. If it’s lit a spark in your heart, take advantage of our special November rates.
